We are looking for an experienced individual to lead our Kindergarten Prep class, starting in the Fall of 2021.
Pre-K Teacher Assistant
As a Pre-K Assistant in our Kindergarten Prep School at Elite Learning Academy, you will help young minds explore, discover and understand the world around them and prepare for entrance into Kindergarten.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Pre-K Teacher in planning and implementing the Kindergarten Prep curriculum of activities that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Elite Learning Academy philosophy of teaching.
Elite Learning Academy of Middletown is a private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. We offer a ten-month Kindergarten Prep program for children ages 4 to 6.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the implementation of a superior Early Childhood Education program in accordance with school policies
- Maintains a safe, healthy and educational environment for the class
- Ensures the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing Elite Learning Academy’s standards
- Communicates regularly with parents, in person and through use of technology, meeting (or exceeding) parent expectations
- Assists the Lead Pre-K Teacher in teaching and all activities
- Provides a caring and loving atmosphere for all the children in our care
- Observes all rules and regulations at Elite Learning Academy pertaining to the health, safety and care of children
- Light cleaning and pick up after the kids is required
Requirements:
- Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent degree
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Preschool, Pre-K, or Kindergarten teacher, preferred
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
- Evidence of strong instruction and adherence to applicable "best practices" of preschool learning and instruction, especially for early literacy and math
- Demonstrated interest, commitment, and ability to challenge students at all levels
- Commitment to establishing effective, proactive and positive parent communication
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Background check will be required

After Care Teacher

After Care Teacher
The After Care Teacher position requires crafting an enriched learning experience and creating a positive environment that helps to set the stage where milestones are celebrated and encouraged. Our teachers are motivators where hard work is "no problem" and where no task is too much to handle. You will work alongside a talented team of Elite Educators. Elite Learning Academy of Middletown is a private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. Our program serves children ages 4 to 6 in our Kindergarten Prep School as well as children in grades 1st to 8th in our Homeschool Pods. We offer after care daily from 3pm to 6pm.
This role requires strong classroom management skills and a background with children and parents in a school setting. The ability to maintain order during a busy program, multitask and problem solve in any situation is an integral part of this position.
After Care Teacher Responsibilities:
- Implement a play-based curriculum that engages all learners in meaningful enrichment programming after school.
- Implement classroom management that reflects and corresponds with response classroom techniques
- Respond to the individual needs of children and establish stable and consistent relationships with each child and their families/caregivers.
- Implement and adhere to safety protocols, particularly sign out procedures
- Maintain a tidy and functional classroom and commons space
After Care Teacher Requirements:
- Experience working with children ages 4 to 14 years old, preferable in an education or enrichment-setting
- Highly effective collaborator, eager to listen deeply, contribute to a team and achieve goals together
- Deep dedication to learning and developing as an educator
- Very resourceful and adaptive, eager to embrace constant change, growth and learning
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Background check will be required
